Mr Marker

Mr Marker is a loop-based animation tool that was developed for Universal Everything.

Draw lines with one or many fingers. Each line is turned into a looping animation that repeats on its own timeline. Change the appearance of your loops using the simple interface provided and then record everything to a video which can be saved to your photos ready to share. Loops can be thick or thin, black or white or coloured, consistent or varied, fast or slow. Each time you clear the screen you'll be given different colours to play with.

The iPad app was developed for Universal Everything, primarily for them to generate animated title sequences. You can download the app via the iTunes store.

Tech

The software was built using a 64-bit iOS version of openFrameworks and a forked version of the ofxiOSVideoWriter addon for recording animations to h264 video in realtime. A small amount of native code was written to transfer recorded videos into the users photos album so that they can be accessed and shared.
