The Lab

The Lab is a multlisensory immersive installation at The Museum of the Future, Dubai. It features near-360° visuals that portray an ever changing generative ecosystem simulation. Visitors interact with the simulation via docking stations that allow new species or other inputs to be introduced which in turn determine the outcome of the visuals.

All of the biological species visuals are procedurally generated, resulting in many different permutations of species and composition. Each species also has its own procedural growth and death animations.

Working with Marshmallow Laser Feast I led the technical development of the project and was reponisble for the overall software systems, and specifically for the procedural plant systems.

The Lab is a permanent echibition at The Museum of the Future, Dubai.
